The Clarus plastic drinkware collection is a Top Tableware Fave in my book for style, quality and durability – and I know it well since we stocked and sold it since its introduction nearly 10 years ago.
Clarus is now sold direct from the manufacturer through Amazon so we longer stock it, but I still highly recommend it. Here are a few details to help you when considering Clarus plastic drinkware for your home or business.

Review — Clarus Brand Plastic Drinkware:
Clarus is made in the USA in BPA-free Tritan plastic which is dishwasher-safe and virtually unbreakable. In our experience, Clarus really delivers on Tritan’s durability claims. I don’t recall even one report of breakage or cracking in the nearly 10 years we stocked it, and we sold ten of thousands of pieces — many for restaurant and hotel use.
Clarus is a very attractive, reliable line with a few basic, everyday styles great for daily use. Clarus glasses have bit thicker wall than similar plastic glasses which gives it a nice weight – almost like heavier bistro-style glassware. The line also features plastic mugs, stemware pitchers, plates, and bowls, so you can create a matching set easily.
Clarus really delivers in key areas:
- Commercial-quality unbreakable Tritan plastic
- BPA-free plastic glasses
- Used in tops hotels and restaurants
- Commercial dishwasher-safe (that means up to about 140-150 degree-F wash temps)
- Heavyweight, substantial feel
Things to know about Clarus Plastic Glasses before you buy:
For all of Clarus’s “Pros” there is one “Con,” though it’s not a big deal for most people. Tritan plastic tends to have a bit softer surface than the other popular drinkware plastics, SAN and polycarbonate. Clarus products will scratch if washed with a scouring pad. Clarus’s finish does best with cloth washing if washing by hand.
Best places to buy Clarus Plastic Tableware:
Clarus is now sold direct from the factory on Amazon and we’ve found they have consistently the best availability and prices online. Locally, some independent and chain kitchen stores occasionally stock Clarus, but online is generally the best place to find it.
